Russ at NJFS was speedy to reply and he says the likely culprits...either
an IC on the board, or a sending coil on the motor are not available.  He
did offer hope from another source, which I am following up...er...up with
which I am following.

Meanwhile, I still have my trusty QRK - Russco Rumble Master...
no eyesees to fry in that baby!
