Sessions on World Bank Online Resources! Statistics are the foundation
upon which sound policy is built. Given this critical time for planning,
strategy, and policy-making, access to the most accurate and trustworthy
data is more important than ever. The World Bank*s publications and data
are crucial tools for any government agency.Join Devika Levy and Mary
Borisova, of the World Bank*s Online Resources team, for a special demo
session in which they will introduce FEDLINK members to its newest
online data resources and flagship publications. The August 26th
presentation will focus on research tools that cover a wide range of
topics including: gender, health, employment, natural resources, energy,
the environment, globalization, aid, trade, and of course, global
finance, economics,  and development. The following online resources
will be featured:* e-Library, the electronic portal to the World Bank's
full-text collection of more than 5,500 books, reports, journals, and
other documents. * World Development Indicators (WDI Online), the
definitive data source on global economics and development including
more than 860 indicators on more than 150 economies since 1970 * Global
Development Finance (GDF Online), containing statistical data from 1970
on the 135 countries that report public and publicly-guaranteed debt to
the World Bank Reporting System. * Africa Development Indicators (ADI
Online), with more than 1400 indicators, offering the most comprehensive
collection of social and economic data on Africa available. * Global
Economic Monitor (GEM), a one-stop shop portal for the latest news,
analysis, trends, and forecasts on global economics * plus an extensive
database. Forthcoming publications and product will also be
highlighted.The first demo session will be held at 9:30am in the
FLICC/FEDLINK training room, with a repeat session at 1:30pm. Don*t miss
