"Popular Music in the Mercer Era, 1910-1970" Conference

In recognition of the centennial of songwriter Johnny Mercer's birth, Georgia State University Library's Popular Music and Culture Archives is presenting the "Popular Music in the Mercer Era, 1910-1970" conference.  The conference is a two-day exploration of popular music during Johnny Mercer's lifetime, held at the Georgia State University's Rialto Center for the Arts in Atlanta, Georgia.  The conference includes presentations by internationally renowned scholars providing insight into Johnny Mercer and the popular music of his era; the Atlanta premier of the new Johnny Mercer documentary film; and culminates with a special performance of Johnny Mercer's music featuring Lizz Wright, Joe Gransden and the Georgia State University Jazz Band.

Registration and admission to the conference is free. Conference registration includes:
