10:00 - 10:15 - Introduction and overview of Thomson Reuters Healthcare and Science

 

10:20 - 10:45 - Overview of ScienceWireŽ - Discovery Logic's data visualization and database infrastructure comprised of multiple scientific data sources interlinked to provide real-time information on scientific funding, productivity, and impact.  The ScienceWire platform maps research performance by revealing relationships between projects, people and ideas through analysis of seemingly unrelated data - the results of which assist Government agencies in making informed R&D decisions.

 

10:50- 11:20 - Demonstration of the ScienceWireŽ Grant Portfolio Management System. ScienceWire helps Agencies, nonprofit and academic organizations correlate research funding with resulting public health outcomes by automating the linkage between research grants and quantitative output and outcome indicators (including publications and citations), and provides analytic tools for evaluation of research grant portfolios.

 

11:25-12:00 - Overview of Discovery Logic's Analytics Group - A presentation of the latest research and evaluation projects performed using the ScienceWire platform, addressing such questions as program evaluation, applicant and workforce demographics, program impact, person- and organization based-networks, and trend analysis.
