COPYRIGHT ROYALTY JUDGES ANNOUNCE COST-OF-LIVING ADJUSTMENT FOR PERFORMANCE OF MUSICAL COMPOSITIONS BY COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES (74 FR 62705).
The Copyright Royalty Judges announce a cost-of-living adjustment of -0.2 percent in the royalty rates that colleges, universities, and other nonprofit educational institutions not affiliated with National Public Radio pay for the use of published nondramatic musical compositions in the repertories of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers; Broadcast Music, Inc.; and SESAC. The cost-of-living adjustment is based on the change in the Consumer Price Index from October 2008 to October 2009. The new rates take effect on January 1, 2010.
