Please join us on June 18 to tour
the FEDLINK Federal Scanning Center and learn about new service options.
Housed at the Library of Congress,
the scanning center is open to all FEDLINK members. FedScan offers digitization of library
materials with high quality output (images, metadata and other derivatives),
quick turnaround and long-term preservation.
New features:
·
Recently
introduced output formats include EPUB and MOBI, to support users with portable
reading devices and Daisy audio output for users who have difficulty reading. Full retrospective conversion of all
existing online titles has been completed.
·
FedScan now handles larger
formats and non-bound materials.
·
Ancillary services include
special handling such as redaction.
The FedScan center session will
feature a demonstration of the service, Q & A session, and a tour of the
facilities. For more information about FedScan, see the FAQ at http://www.loc.gov/flicc/contracts/pdfs/IAFAQ-200910.pdf.
