Information Analysis
Speakers will be representing a variety of federal
agencies including the Defense Technical Information Center, Federal Bureau of
Investigation, Federal Reserve Board, Government Printing Office, Joint Forces
Staff College, Library of Congress, Marine Corps University, National Archives
and Records Administration and the National Defense University.
The keynote speaker is Carol Ramkey, the Director of
the Library of the Marine Corps, and chair of the FLICC Human Resources Working
Group that created the Federal Librarian Competencies. Ramkey started her
library career in the 4th grade (when she got kicked out of study hall for
talking and sent to work in the library) and after college, she worked as a
circulation technician before earning a Masters in Library Science from Emory
University. She has more than 28 years of federal experience, all of it as a
military librarian. She is proud to have been a library technician and
considers that experience to be the foundation for her career.
