I checked our two French dictionaries, and the only abbreviation for Comte I could find (in von Ostermann’s Manual) was Cte.

But it doesn’t seem very likely in this case that it’s cerium.  Could it be Cesare?

Subject: [PCCLIST] a NACO question, regarding French

Dear NACO colleagues,

I have a t.p. usage that appears to be “Ce. [surname]”.  Can someone confirm, as my dictionary cannot, that “Ce.” is an abbreviation for the title of nobility “Comte”?

Thanks in advance.

Carl
