Oops!  Sorry about that.  I only noticed the revised Tag Library because I accidentally cut the URL and wound up at the directory's index.  Looking forward to the release.

Creighton,

Actually the revised Tag Library is being reviewed by the EACWG and was not intended to be released, just yet! And yes, when released the URL will remain persistent.

It looks like the error has already been corrected.

There is the Tag Library where the description of the <localControl> element [1] says the @LocalType attribute is optional. And then there is a revised Tag Library, from August 2010 where the description of the <localControl> element [2] says the @LocalType attribute is required.

Is the revised Tag Library a work in progress that hasn't been released, or is it ready to be used?  If the revisions are finished for now, it might be a good idea to change the URL of the revised Tag Library to the URL of the current Tag Library, which people have presumably bookmarked.

On another note, has the EACWG considered using a wiki for the tag library?  That might help make revisions available as they are made.

David,

I will bring the discrepancy between the Tag Library and the schema to the attention of the EACWG. The WG is currently working on further revision of the Tag Library to correct errors, improve the descriptions, and add more examples. There are also Italian and French translations underway.

Thank you for pointing out this error.

Daniel

Thanks for the reply Daniel.

I think the tag library documentation is incorrect then, as the description
of the <localControl> element [1] lists the @localType attribute as
optional. In contrast the <localDescription> and <localDescriptions> element
correctly indicate that @localType is required.
