Dear Colleagues - This is to
inform you that we now have online videos of our recent Special Topics in
Preservation Series - 50th Event: "Introduction to the Work of the
New Preservation Science Laboratories of the Library of Congress."
You may see the videos at http://www.loc.gov/preserv/tops/tops50/index.html.
Eleven videos introduce LC's new labs; projects analyzing
top treasures using hyperspectral imaging, x-ray fluorescence/diffraction, and
environmental scanning electron microscopic systems; research on recycled
paper, electronic media (tapes, disks and other time-based media), and visual
storage systems; and our new Center for the Library's Analytical Science
Samples (CLASS).
We hope these videos provide insight into a small portion
of the work we undertake on behalf of the nation's collections. Please
let me know if you have any questions.
- Dianne van der Reyden, Director for Preservation
