Subject: [PIG] Controlled vocabularies subgroup

The PREMIS Editorial Committee would like to form a subgroup to work on the issue of controlled vocabularies. There are many semantic units in the PREMIS Data Dictionary that say the value should be taken from a controlled vocabulary. We are starting to use the Authorities and vocabularies web service at the Library of Congress to make these lists available and would like input from PREMIS implementers. A place has been set up on the PREMIS implementers' group wiki to collect such controlled vocabularies. See:
http://pigpen.lib.uchicago.edu:8888/pigpen/14
(for password see: http://www.loc.gov/standards/premis/pigInfo.jpg)
We encourage implementers to add their vocabularies here.

Please let me know if you are interested in joining this group. We will operate by email and teleconference (if necessary).
