The Australian Library and Information Association is surveying "conference mentoring" if you care to respond.

Conference attendance - short online survey for all Library & Information Science professionals

Hi there!

As part of research funded by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) Study Grant Award, I am conducting short, online interviews to collect qualitative data about conference attendance by Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals.

Whilst this research is related to the ALIA Information Online Conference Mentoring pilot project, participants do not have to be attending the conference to answer these questions. In fact, the broader the responses the better, so please feel free to forward on to LIS professionals and students that you may have access to, including internationally.

The online survey will only take 5-10 minutes to fill out. The purpose of this research is to:
a) create a guide to conference attendance for new LIS professionals
b) inform the guidelines for participation in the conference mentoring pilot project being run at ALIA Information Online 2011.

If you are a seasoned conference attendee, please fill out this survey: LIS conference attendance: Experienced conference attendees and potential mentors

If you are new to the profession or not familiar with large conferences, please fill out this survey: LIS conference attendance: Inexperienced conference attendees and potential mentees

Any research participation is voluntary and in accordance with the Australian National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research. The information sheet is available here or can be obtained by contacting the researcher.

For any queries relating to the research, please contact the researcher, Naomi Doessel.

Thanks very much.
