The National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program began in 2000 as a Congressionally mandated program "to develop standards and a nationwide collecting strategy to build a national repository of digital materials" (P.L. 106-554). Over the past 10 years NDIIPP built an international network of creators, users, and stewards of digital materials and has become a permanent program at the Library of Congress. This year the National Digital Stewardship Alliance was formed as an initiative of NDIIPP. Members participate in working groups to set the national agenda for digital preservation. FLICC is a founding member of the Alliance; please come learn how your organization can participate. Abigail Potter is a Digital Archivist with the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program at the Library of Congress. There she contributed to the Section 108 Study Group, was the founding editor of the Library of Congress Digital Preservation Newsletter, and coordinating editor of the forthcoming 2010 NDIIPP Report to the United States Congress. She is also the Communications Officer for the International Internet Preservation Consortium. Previously, Abigail worked at National Public Radio, the University of Michigan Library and for the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. Abigail graduated in 2005 from the University of Michigan, School of Information.
