Subject: [FEDLIB] DataONE survey of federal libraries and librarians

***************INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE**************************************

Your library and librarians are invited to participate in an NSF-sponsored research study about how federal libraries and library staff engage in activities related to research data. “Research data services” address the full data lifecycle, including data management, digital curation (selection, preservation, maintenance, and archiving), and metadata creation and conversion.

For the federal library survey:
This survey would be completed by your library's director, manager, or administrator. We are seeking feedback from an institutional perspective; therefore, please answer the questions from the perspective of the library and its policies. For individual perspectives, please complete the second survey (below).

The survey is hosted by the University of Tennessee. The questionnaire should take about 15 minutes to complete.

For the federal librarian survey:
This survey would be completed by any interested professional library staff. Individual librarian responses are extremely valuable; please answer this survey based upon your own experience, perspectives, and opinions.
