With the conclusion of this October, I will conclude my twenty-five years of service at the Library of Congress.

This has been a very difficult decision, as the Library, my co-workers, and so many of you in the Program for Cooperative Cataloging have been as another family to me. There are other needs, however, within my own family and for myself, that combine to make this a good time for a change.

I have met, worked with, and come to know many of you in person; so many more of you through this wondrous Internet that we alternately bless and curse. It has been, and remains, an enchantment from which I shall never fully awaken.

Thank you, one and all, for anything and everything,

Anthony RD Franks
