DC/SLA and the Military Libraries Group of DC/SLA invite you to attend this informative program with speaker, Dr. Paulette Hasier, Research Services Manager, DARPA, that will help you be more informed as you address the value of new technologies. It’s also a great opportunity to do some networking while enjoying light refreshments. Thanks to LexisNexis for their sponsorship of this program.
Program Description: With the vast array of technologies now available, libraries are challenged to understand content delivery in the context of their user’s experience. By assessing how customers use information we truly understand the value of new technology. Listen to a current practitioner discuss key aspects to be considered when looking to implement a new technology or resource.
Here are some the topics that will be discussed:
In her current position, Paulette is a contractor and Manager of Research Services for a DoD Agency. She has worked in this position for over three years and has been instrumental in moving the library from a print based research facility to an electronic accessible research center. With over 16 years of library experience, her prior positions include; Manager of Education and Member Services at OCLC, Director of the Business Information Center at SMU and Special Collection Librarian at Dallas Public Library. She has a MSLS and a MS from the University of North Texas and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Texas at Arlington.
