Gotta agree with Tom about source. A Clean source will sound much better and be a lot easier to restore than a beat up disc. Most click a noise removal software have a limit to what they detect. 
Oh. And I all else fails I have one stylus that is used Dorset playback. It's a last resort but can do wonders on did you think are beyond repair. And it's almost always something obscure that there is no other copy to be found.
