I'm a little surprised not to have seen this posted to the list, but I
think it's relevant and interesting for people dealing with audio
documentaries, radio pieces, and those that love what the Kitchen
Sisters call "lost and found sound." And they're going to be there
too. Mostly this conference is for radio/audio producers, but I'm
going and looking forward to what I hope will be a feast for the ears.

FYI in any case.

"Third Coast Conference

The Third Coast Conference convenes in the Chicago area for three days
every other fall. Radio producers, audio artists, journalists,
documentarians, and students come together, listen to each otherís
work, share ideas and expertise, and make priceless connections with
future colleagues and new friends. Sessions and discussions range from
practical topics to philosophical perspectives, and all include plenty
of listening.

The weekend culminates with an awards ceremony honoring the winners of
the Third Coast / Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition.

Registration is now open for the 2012 Third Coast Conference,
happening October 5-7 in Evanston, IL! Read basic information, and
about this year's sessions and presenters, then get yourself signed up
and we'll see you in October.

Ready to spend three days with hundreds of fellow producers, artists,
students, and audio enthusiasts, talking shop about radio/audio
storytelling on the airwaves and beyond? Ready to come together,
listen to each otherís work, share ideas and expertise, and make
priceless connections with future colleagues and new friends? Ready to
get down on the dance floor with your Radio Heros?

Thought so. This fall marks the TENTH Third Coast Conference, and we
hope you'll celebrate with us over the course of another
radio-drenched weekend in Evanston - just up the road from Chicago.
