Dear Vicky:

This is something that the PREMIS Editorial Committee has talked about and we do need to have more examples. We would not probably put them in the data dictionary because it is harder to maintain, but have a portion of the web site devoted to examples. It would be helpful if people on this list contribute some examples, since they are sometimes hard to find and it is always better to use real ones than making them up. We can get some from registered METS profiles when PREMIS is used, since they must include an example.

If anyone can contribute to this effort, please email some examples to me at the email address below. We will need to compile a list of what we want to illustrate, but one is obviously using the new rights semantic units.

Thank you for this suggestion.

Dear Rebecca,

I'm currently looking at implementing version 2.2 of PREMIS in the National
Library of Wales.  I would really like to see examples of implementation
either in the Data Dictionary or on the PREMIS site (similar to METS Primer
document i.e. example PREMIS in xml).  Having examples would really help me
understand the schema better and make implementing in our own institution

Dear PREMIS Implementers' Group:

The PREMIS Editorial Committee is interested in soliciting new or
potentially new users of the PREMIS Data Dictionary to share their
experiences and thoughts. The Committee would be interested in responses to
any or all of the following questions:

1. Are there barriers to implementing the PREMIS Data Dictionary in your
institution? If so, what are they?
2. What issues have you had in planning to use PREMIS and adapting it to
your situation?
3. Are there specific areas where you think PREMIS needs improvement? If
so, where?

Please respond to this list.
