In working with the Family Theater transcriptions, I kept a separate valid file of the opening bars of the beginning music to use as a double check. I found more than once that I had to change the pitch of the recording I was working on due to variances in turntables and dubs.

Beware that in some cases the NBC chimes may have been dubbed from
another disc, and where two turntables are involved the chimes will probably 
no longer sound G/E/C exactly. I've encountered cases where they were very 
far off.
