Hi Everyone -

I just wanted to send an e-mail to invite you and your staffs to the Department of the Interior Library on Thursday, October  from 2:00 to 3:15 pm for a training session entitled "ProQuest Congressional: Introduction and New Features," part of our series of free training sessions at the DOI Library.

The ProQuest Congressional Database provides users with efficient, targeted access to a comprehensive online collection of historic and current congressional information. This collection includes the full text of congressional publications, finding aids, a bill tracking service, and the full text of public laws and other research materials to enable both novice and experienced researchers to complete many types of research projects using a single, user-friendly interface.  Attendees to this class will learn how to utilize ProQuest Congressional’s new user platform to search through digitized collections of materials such as current and historic Congressional reports, hearings, and prints as well as Congressional Research Service reports.  They will also learn search techniques that can be used to locate digitized copies of these materials, essential in conducting thorough legislative history research. This program will be conducted by a ProQuest trainer.

All that are interested are invited.  The DOI Library is located in the Main Interior Building, located at 1849 C Street, NW, Room 1151 in Washington.  Space is limited so please contact the Library by phone at (202) 208-5815 or by e-mail at [log in to unmask] to let us know you will be coming.    Please Note: This class is also being offered to remote users as a simultaneous online webinar via WebEx. Please contact the DOI Library by e-mail at [log in to unmask] for information on how to register for WebEx access to the class.

For more information about future DOI Library Training Sessions, we encourage you to visit our Training Sessions website at http://www.doi.gov/library/programs/training.cfm.

We hope that you can attend either in person or virtually on November 8th!
