Here is news of a record company dealt a crippling blow in the recent storm. New Amsterdam is a small, but critically praised -- present company included -- label that exposes the works of New York City's youngest and, in some cases, most venturesome composers. Although located in Brooklyn, their facility was located in the Red Hook section which is along the water.
