Hi, Shai,

I do not find it alarming either (though you didn't ask me <smile>).

We have a benchmark that 30 days is needed and is effective for some 
instrumentation tapes, but they:
  (a) were exposed to ocean breezes prior to recording
  (b) are on 14- or 15-inch reels
  (c) are on Corning precision glass reels with NO WINDOWS (and very 
little space between the tape pack and flange)
  (d) are one-inch wide
  (e) are very long tapes (with thinner-than-audio oxide) running at 
least 9600 feet per reel and some longer, I think

I will find it alarming when I NEED to bake 15 days or so to get good 
results on normal audio reels. I feel we still have a lot of baking 
"headroom" left based on Stuart Rohre's findings from University of 
Texas, Arlington, experience with the instrumentation tapes.
