*DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: *****

 ****

Creates digital master files of historical sound, video, and other
recordings housed in the State Library and Archives using professional
archival guidelines and techniques employed in the preservation of this
type of media.****

Assists in providing enhanced public access, and online access (Florida
Memory website), to State Library & Archives sound recordings. Assists in
creating content for the Florida Memory website.****

Assists in developing and implementing long-range plan for storage of
master digital files.****

Provides basic research assistance to State Library and Archives patrons,
including locating audio material in various collections and assistance in
the use of equipment and assorted audio formats.****

Performs other related duties as required.****

*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:*****

A Master's degree in Archives Management or from an ALA-accredited program
for library and information science,****

*OR*****

Related Master's degree in music, history, or audio/sound engineering****

*OR *****

A Bachelor's degree in history, information science, music or audio/sound
engineering and one year of related professional experience can substitute
for the master's degree.  ****

One year of formal archival education and/or demonstrated knowledge of
archival audio preservation or formal education in sound engineering and
one year experience in audio/sound science (dealing with the recording and
reproduction of sound through mechanical and electronic means).****
