It's a silly exampl= e that makes my face the logo of the application and changes a couple of th= e menu items. It should give you an idea of how this is done. I also created a wiki page to document some of this work here: https://github.com/LibraryOfCongress/chronam/wiki/Extending-ChronAm I had a short conversation with some of the other developers about how to d= o this, but we'd really like to flesh it out in a way that works for you, s= o once you've tried it, please give us a shout about any obstacles you enco= unter. Also, if you find it doesn't work, you might comment on ticket #44: https://github.com/LibraryOfCongress/chronam/issues/44 Hope it works for you. Thank you!=20 I am, however, running into some hurdles farther down the line. I am upgrad= ing a site built on the old version of ndnp (http://nyshistoricnewspapers.o= rg/) to the new version and, as you know, a lot has changed in terms of the= way the software works. You all made some nice changes and simplified thin= gs (templates especially...thank you!). As you can tell, I build a new temp= late based off of the loc template that existed with the old version of the= software but the new core template has a very different look. I'm running = into some hurdles making sure that the urls.py matches the correct views th= at match the correct template etc. For example, the old template had the ad= vanced search page forms available on the home page but the new template do= es not. I am in the process of going through all of the views and processor= s trying to knit it back together again.=20 With that being said, I noticed that there was an loc app in the files but = that app also references an "lc" app that is commented out in the settings = file and doesn't exist in the repository. I couldn't get it to work. I assu= me that this is the loc template made functional on the new version of the = software? It would make my life MUCH easier if I was able to modify that lo= c template again rather than try to piece it all together from the core tem= plate. Can the loc templates be made available or is it proprietary to the = loc?=20 Thanks, Mike Mike Beccaria Systems Librarian Head of Digital Initiative Paul Smith's College 518.327.6376 [log in to unmask] Become a friend of Paul Smith's Library on Facebook today! -----Original Message----- From: Data, API, website, and code of the Chronicling America website [mail= to:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Brunton, David Sent: Friday, May 17, 2013 10:23 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Templates and Static Files Questions Hi Michael, I just pushed a change to the github repository that creates an example app= lication called "example" at the same level as "core".
