Public Speaking…few embrace it, many fear it, and no one escapes it. Regardless of your station on the public speaking spectrum, from rock-star speaker and master of toasts, to hiding under your desk to avoid even the chance of uttering words in public, everyone can improve their public speaking skills. Perhaps you are comfortable with speaking in public, but just need some tips to jazz up your presentations. Maybe the frog in your throat or butterflies in your stomach are preventing you from speaking your mind.

About the Speakers:
Ron Barrett, Vice President of Nonprofit Services National Corporate Research, Ltd.
Ron Barrett is the Vice President of Nonprofit Services at National Corporate Research, Ltd., (“NCR”), a professional registered agent company that provides nationwide corporate, secured transaction, business license, and nonprofit services. His responsibilities at NCR have included management of client service specialists and operational staff working with various state and federal agencies as well as product development. He joined NCR in 2008 when Capitol District Information, a provider of legal research, document retrieval and library services in Washington, D.C., was acquired by NCR.
He is a member of numerous organizations, including: The American Society of Association Executives, Center for Nonprofit Advancement, Capital Area Nonprofit and Association Network, and is the President of Capital Toastmasters I.
Lewis Flax, Owner of Flax Associates
Lewis Flax started his own nonprofit fundraising consulting business in 2008 workin with many nonprofits including a trade association connected with infomercials, a group that provides housing for individuals with intellectual disabilities, an association of interior designers, and an organization that seeks to prevent substance abuse. He provides business development training / board training for clients and other organizations (Center For Nonprofit Advancement, Maryland Nonprofits, Global Impact).
He is certified as an instructor for Dale Carnegie Training and has served as an instructor for the ‘Sales Success’ course. He is active in his own professional association American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and chairs one of their committees.
