(Classical censorship did not go that far, except in Orwell's visionary "Brave New World") The top priority of which is to create and direct attention on the Web, not to convey meaning in any reliable way. BIBFRAME can, I think, become a useful or even very important add-on to our means for expressing meaning about resources. It can probably not become a replacement for MARC, considering all the functionality of the latter and its many uses most of which are still very far from what BIBFRAME is presently capable of doing. In any event, the library community has always been the owner of their data standards and should make sure that this doesn't change. B.Eversberg
