And then there's the piece in today's WSJ (Section B, page 3) "Sirius sued over music royalities for legacy works" - the issue is monies due for 
pre-1972 phonograms. So now the Turtles are suing in California based on California copyright for their pre-72 recordings. Looks like an ideal reason to bring pre-72 into the Federal copyright regime.
