Aren’t LCCN 97061407 and   2001430808 both compilations of works by different persons and as such would have an authorized access point based on the preferred title of the compilation (RDA 6.27.1.4)?

Subject: [PCCLIST] Conflict between author/title NAR and bib 100/245

Aloha,

I'm wondering what the rest of you are doing about conflicts that arise when the title proper for a work consists of the creator's name and the author/title combination appears as a variant on a NAR for a different work.

Consider, for example, the NAR for Spencer, Stanley, ǂc Sir, ǂd 1891-1959. ǂt Works. ǂk Selections. ǂf 2001 (n 2003038257) and the bibliographic record with LCCN 97061407. The 100/245 bib combination matches the 400 on the authority record. (The NAR is coded AACR2 but that's only because of the subfield $c.) How would you break the conflict? Would you add a qualifier to the 400 field of the NAR and if so, what would it be? Or would you change that work's authorized access point by adding a 240 field?
