As the PCC liaison to ALA's Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access (CC:DA), one of my responsibilities is to collect PCC feedback on proposals and discussion papers regarding changes to RDA and convey those comments to CC:DA to help inform the ALA position on each paper. All (or almost all) of the proposals from other constituencies are in, and CC:DA is ready to begin discussing them. I would be happy to forward any comments from PCC members for CC:DA's consideration. Generally I will do this by entering comments into the CC:DA wiki (access information below).

A list of proposals for JSC consideration in November is available at: http://www.rda-jsc.org/working1.html#constituency

There are about 30 proposals, and CC:DA's deadline for responding to them is September 20. Peter Rolla, CC:DA chair, plans to group two or more proposals that deal with similar topics together and have CC:DA discuss and act on them at the same time. The first group of proposals to be discussed is: 6JSC/ACOC/7, 6JSC/ACOC/8, and 6JSC/ACOC/9. If you would like to comment on these proposals, please let me know as soon as possible.

If you would like to follow CC:DA's activities and discussions more closely (including notification of which proposals will be discussed next), you can subscribe to the [rules] list. See http://lists.ala.org/wws/info/rules for details. You can also view discussion on the CC:DA wiki (http://wikis.ala.org/ccda/index.php/Main_Page), though only members and liaisons can post comments.

Please send your comments directly to me and not to the PCC list. If you have an opportunity to comment on these papers through multiple CC:DA liaisons or voting members, please select just one of us to contribute on your behalf.

I look forward to hearing from you!
