Thom Pease, LC ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Kimmy Lists <[log in to unmask]> Date: Fri, Dec 20, 2013 at 1:09 PM Subject: [MLA-L] Fwd: Fate of Hollywood Park broadcast archives To: MLA-L <[log in to unmask]> Last weekend I came across an article in *The New York Times* about the closing of Hollywood Park in Los Angeles. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/15/sports/a-last-hurrah-for-hollywood-park.html In the interview with Kip Hannan, who is in charge of the park's media production, he voiced great (grave?) concerns over the fate of decades of broadcast materials. I suspect these historic broadcasts, if properly preserved and made available, could have tremendous research value. I am wondering if any here on the list knows of any follow up to this? Has an institution expressed interest in these materials? - Kimmy Szeto
