Dear Catholic University of America (CUA) Department of Library and Information Science (LIS) Alumni & The wider library and information science community,

This is an open invitation to save the date of Monday, January 6th, 2014 when the Alumni Board will open nominations for the 2014 Raymond Von Dran Memorial Award.

This annual award recognizes a CUA SLIS/LIS alumnus/alumna for demonstrating innovation, collaboration, and leadership in their library career. - The deadline for nominations is Thursday, February 6th, 2014.

Fellow alumni, employers, and colleagues are invited to nominate SLIS/LIS Alumni for the 2014 award. Alumni are also welcome to nominate themselves.

The award will be presented at the 24th Annual Elizabeth Stone Lecture, April 4, 2013.

Nominators are strongly encouraged to make a compelling case for the nominee. Please give specific examples of what makes the nominee truly unique when measured against the criteria of innovation, collaboration, and leadership.

Please take the next two weeks, before the nomination period opens, to consider someone who truly embodies the spirit of the award and how you can make the best case for your nominee.

Again, the period for nominations is not until January 6th, so we will not be accepting nominations until that time.

If you have any questions, please email:
