Lynne,
It has been a very long time since I dealt with this directly, but I pulled out my old Serials Union List Manual to find the info:
The codes you are asking about seem to be the ‘completeness’ and the ‘acquisition status code’. (There could also be a third code if applicable: the ‘nonretention code’.)
Zero (0) stands for ‘Information Not Available’ for the completeness.
Five (5) stands for ‘Not currently received’.
Refer to the ANSI Z39.42 standard for more detail.

Subject: [MARC] Serials holdings for Microform
I am new to the field of serials cataloging, so please forgive a question that exposes my
ignorance!
When looking at records for serials where both print and microform versions are held, I
often see the microform holdings enclosed in square brackets with numbers following
the actual holdings. i.e.: [Microfilm=42-43,46-49 1981-1982,1985-1986 0,5] in the summary
or 852 field. Can anyone shed some light on what the 0,5 numbers indicate?
Thank you.
