Hi Mark: I suspected that, because if they go back and remaster stuff, they crow about it. Plus there were no high-rez downloads or LPs. BTW, listmembers -- note that one of the Handmade items on sale is the quad (4-channel) DVD Aretha Franklin album. I have a copy of that and, while I'd prefer real-deal 48/24 4-channel DVD-Audio as opposed to lossy Dolby DVD-video sound, it still sounds very good and the quad mix greatly un-clutters the not-great recordings. I think they sold out of the quad DVD of "Chicago Transit Authority." That, too, is a fun and different experience from the original. -- Tom Fine ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Jenkins" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Thursday, March 20, 2014 9:37 AM Subject: Re: [ARSCLIST] Rhino Handmade sale > Tom, > > I have this Rhino reissue, and nothing (credits, sound or otherwise) in it leads me to believe > that it was a new remastering. > > Mark > > Mark Jenkins > Countdown Media, a division of BMG Rights Management (US) LLC > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Association for Recorded Sound Discussion List [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf > Of Tom Fine > Sent: March-20-14 6:27 AM > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: [ARSCLIST] Rhino Handmade sale > > http://tinyurl.com/py2zble > > Does anyone know for sure if the Wilson Pickett 6CD set was newly remastered, or is it just > recycling the old 4CD set plus some other material with a fancy new package? > > -- Tom Fine > >
