I've been led in some good directions by Pandora, but it takes constant "tuning" and it's very annoying that they limit how many bad selections you can "thumbs down" per hour. And the commercials are really annoying. Still, though, I do try to listen a few hours each week in hopes of more good tips. Where's helped me is with more recent-vintage acid-jazz, because the releases are usually DIY or otherwise under the radar. Also finding interesting UK-based soul-revival stuff (although, like all cover bands, most of those guys get old due to lack of original thinking). This list has been very helpful introducing me to new music a couple of times. What has never been helpful are sites like Pitchfork, I have yet to find anything there that is of my taste that I didn't already know about. -- Tom Fine ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lou Judson" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Friday, March 21, 2014 10:20 PM Subject: Re: [ARSCLIST] Music media, old and new, in today's WSJ > Bah!
