The SLA Maryland Chapter cordially invites you to attend its spring dinner program, “Sensemaking: Career Competencies for the Decade Ahead.”  Spend an insightful evening with David T. Moore, instructor and author of Critical Thinking and Intelligence Analysis (Occasional Paper, National Defense Intelligence College) and Sensemaking: A Structure for an Intelligence Revolution.  Mr. Moore will delve into the concept of sensemaking and how to use it to capitalize on the deluge of content before us by turning it into relevant, high-quality information that is decision-ready!

A program you won’t want to miss!  SLA and others have identified sensemaking as essential skill set for the future!  It has been estimated that collectively, people spend more than 70 billion hours a year trying to make sense of information they have gathered online.  Sound familiar?  As information continues to proliferate at lightning speed we need to find better ways to connect the dots.  Sensemaking is one way and is increasingly becoming a go-to skill set for the 21st century workforce.

About the Speaker:  David T. Moore is a career senior intelligence analyst, technical director at the National Security Agency and adjunct faculty member of the National Cryptologic School.   Mr. Moore has been at the forefront of developing sensemaking models for the intelligence community.  His expertise in intelligence analysis competencies, methods, and standards was developed over two decades of intelligence assignments.  He continues to advocate and provide mentoring for adopting best practices in intelligence.
