This will be of interest to PREMIS implementers (if you haven't seen this elsewhere).

Subject: [Digipres] OCLC Research Report now available - Preservation Health Check: Monitoring Threats to Digital Repository Content

*Apologies for cross-posting*

The Preservation Health Check: Monitoring Threats to Digital Repository Content report was published today.

The OCLC Research Preservation Health Check activity<http://www.oclc.org/research/activities/phc.html> was initiated by Open Planets Foundation and we worked with the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, who provided us with a sample of their preservation metadata for the Pilot.

The report published today presents the preliminary findings of Phase 1 of the Pilot and suggests that there is an opportunity to use PREMIS preservation metadata as an evidence base to support a threat assessment exercise based on the Simple Property-Oriented Threat (SPOT) model.
It is a specialized report that will be of interest to digital repository managers, digital preservation practitioners, and PREMIS implementers.

You can read more on the Report publication announcement page at: http://www.oclc.org/research/news/2014/04-28a.html

Please feel free to share it with others and share your feedback with us at anytime.

Kind regards,
Titia van der Werf
