Hi Penny,
The next online NACO training should be in January 2015. I have not announced or advertised the previous sessions because they were filled by new NACO members in need of mandatory program training.
I anticipate that the January online session will have openings for existing NACO members interested in refresher training, and will make an announcement to this list later in November or early in December regarding availability.

Following up on this, but not at all related. When will the next online training be held?
Thanks.

Mark,
Coop staff and I have given three complete online NACO trainings: October-November 2013, January 2014, and September 2014.
The online training consists of six live webinars (mandatory participation) and five “self-study” periods where attendees work at their own pace and view recordings.
The live webinars cover topics not covered in the self-study periods, and questions are encouraged, either ones that come up in the webinar, or ones that come up in the study periods.
We also create an online site for accessing training materials and the recordings, the exercises and exercise answers (exercises are built into the training presentations), and for posting questions and records that attendees have worked on. So that is the substitute for the hands-on practicum. The trainer monitors the training online site daily and will either respond to questions or provide comments there, or hold them for the next live webinar.
The online presentation works well but time will tell how effective it is.
Below is the syllabus from last month’s session.

Subject: [PCCLIST] Regarding online NACO training
I have a question for those who have coordinated the full 5-day NACO training for online delivery. It focuses on what the outline here (<http://www.loc.gov/aba/pcc/naco/outline.html>) refers to as the afternoon workbook exercises and hands-on practicum. How did you go about handling this in an online setting? Half-day live webinar for the presentation; half-day forum or e-mail discussions on the exercises? Live "office hours" via chat and/or webinar for the afternoon? (That one's the most interactive approach.) Other methods?
The reason I'm asking is that we're in the early stages of planning a series of "revisiting NACO" webinars for Minnesota NACO Funnel members.
Thanks.
