Hi everyone,

The Library of Congress just began a new fiscal year.

I have set a personal goal for FY15 to see an increase in the correct reporting by PCC members of LC error reports, LC bibliographic file maintenance (BFM) requests, and NACO duplicate authority record delete requests.

Please remember that PCC members should report any errors in LC bibliographic records to the Library of Congress Cooperative Programs (CP) Section, using the email address [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask]. Even if you find an error in an LC bibliographic record that is not coded PCC or is not related in any way to PCC work that you are doing, the correct reporting address is [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask]. If you encounter a duplicate NACO authority record that is not related to PCC work that you are doing, the correct reporting address is [log in to unmask].

This may sound like the CP Section is asking for more work, but in reality, when PCC members report errors as described above to the Library of Congress Policy and Standards Division (PSD), or to OCLC, complications resulting from the need to forward the error reports to the correct address end up delaying action on the requests, creating more work in the long-run.

Thanks, everyone--
