The program has been adjusted so that a full stop is no longer removed from a corporate name when the character preceding the full stop is a numeral.  The two dozen or so 110 fields with an unnecessary full stop (example: nb2014023156) have been changed individually.

In many countries a roman numeral denotes an ordinal number so the second example below would not need a period following XIII.

In addition, several examples in RDA 11.2.2.22.1 should have final periods:

Germany. Heer. Panzerdivision, 11

Germany. Heer. Armeekorps, XIII

Germany. Luftwaffe. Fallschirmjägerdivision, 9

Germany. Kriegsmarine. Unterseebootsflottille, 7

Soviet Union. Raboche-Krest͡i͡anskai͡a Krasnai͡a Armii͡a. Vozdushnai͡a armii͡a, 5

Their respective NARs do have the final periods.

But the 670s show that those were ordinal numbers and the 110 should have ended with a period.  The answer to Mark's question is "yes".

German heading ending in an abbreviated ordinal number:

Germany. Heer. Armee, 12. (n 84093187)

Germany. Heer. Armee, 15. (n 96023236)

etc.

But there are also instances where the number is treated as cardinal:

Germany. Heer. Armee, 10  (nr 92036574)

Germany. Heer. Armee, 16  (no2003129117)

etc.

So we won't solve this by looking at examples.

From the report "RDA phase 3: Replace obsolete indicators, and adjust terminal punctuation", the last line reads: "Remove a terminal full stop from the 1XX field if it is preceded by a numeral."  Are there any German-language headings that end with an ordinal number?
