Dear Colleagues~

 

The Federal Library and Information Network (FEDLINK) is holding an election for new members to its FEDLINK Advisory Board (FAB).  Those casting a ballot must be a federal employee.  

 

ALL BALLOTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5:00p.m. (Eastern) ON MARCH 3, 2015.  BALLOTS RECEIVED AFTER THAT DEADLINE WILL NOT BE COUNTED.

 

Background:

The FAB comprises 13 voting members: the Chair, who serves ex officio, and twelve individuals appointed by the Chair – nine elected by the FEDLINK membership and three selected by the Chair.  Members serve staggered terms, limited to two consecutive terms in addition to any partial term served. Candidates for elected FAB positions must be federal employees and be FEDLINK member representatives.

 

The work of the FAB is defined in its bylaws:

 

A. Proposes program policies, objectives and plans;

B. Recommends an annual budget and presents it to the membership for review and to the Chair for approval;

C. Participates in FEDLINK meetings;

D. Establishes FEDLINK committees, working groups and advisory councils as necessary, and publishes a list of all such committees and councils annually;

E. Apprises the federal library community of issues of general interest and of those related to FEDLINK programs, services, policies or objectives;

F. Provides advice, policy guidance, and oversight to the FEDLINK executive director regarding FEDLINK programs and budgeting; and

G. Recommends solutions for settling disputes and interprets matters relating to all FEDLINK business.

 

Voting Instructions:

Attached is a ballot in .pdf format.  Biographies of the candidates appear on pages 2 and 3 of the ballot. Those with the highest vote count will be elected to serve.  Information and selections can be entered into the form and saved.  The ballot can then either be emailed to [log in to unmask] as an attachment or printed and faxed to (202) 707-4825.
