Many LCSH genre terms were established before 655 was defined. Even after 655 was defined there might be a 150 LCSH record with a scope note saying use if for the genre because that is what LC was doing when it didn't yet have LCGFT. At some point these 150 LCSH records will either be deleted or the scope note will be changed to indicate it is for use about those genres.

If the work IS something use 655 not 650.

Subject: Re: [PCCLIST] Large type books as a genre

So, if appropriate, a term such as "Large type books", which exists in LCSH, can be coded in 655 in a bibliographic record, with second indicator "0" indicating that the term comes from LCSH:

655 _0 Large type books.

This is true of any form/genre term found in LCSH.

But the authority record for large type books explicity says to use 650 in this case, so 655 0 would be redundant.
