If you use CEDAR, they have a de-wow and flutter program, (I'm not sure exactly what it's called), which does a magnificent job of removing off-centre wow.  I don't know if I've posted this before, but I took the first record of a 45 rpm set of Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet" and put it on the turntable so that the inner edge of the large 45 rpm hole was against the small spindle on a regular turntable.  I played it this way, (huge wow, of course), and ran it through the CEDAR program - the wow completely disappeared.  I haven't tried it yet, but the promotional material says you can be playing a record and while doing so, put your finger on the edge of the record to momentarily slow it down, and the program will completely heal the speed shift.  This saves trying to centre your records for play back and is especially useful if the record you have is a second generation and the wow originates on the first generation, (this often happens).
