More info on this ... Nick Bergh did a presentation at the ARSC conference in Rochester where he demonstrated how high-fidelity early electronic recording equipment was at the point it hit the cutting stylus. It's Nick's restored recording rig shown in the trailer on that web page, and featured throughout the film. In fact, in the trailer, we see the back of Nick's head as he watches the Western Electric recorder do its thing. -- Tom Fine ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Haley" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Wednesday, April 08, 2015 11:31 AM Subject: [ARSCLIST] New PBS series about 1920's recordings > See this from NY Times: > > http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/04/07/american-epic-tv-series-examines-1920s-recordings/?mabReward=A5&action=click&pgtype=Homepage®ion=CColumn&module=Recommendation&src=rechp&WT.nav=RecEngine&_r=0 > > Best, > John Haley > >
