SUBJECT : Request for 2016 National Conference topics

NLS is pleased to announce that the 2016 National Conference of Librarians Serving Blind and Physically Handicapped Individuals will be held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California, from Sunday, April 3, through Thursday, April 7, 2016. A preconference workshop is scheduled for Saturday, April 2, 2016. Network staff members may propose topics for conference programs, the preconference workshop, and conference training sessions. Each regional conference may also present a program at the national conference.

The 2016 conference will be the first time in twelve years that the biennial meeting will be held in the Western Region. The conference will be pivotal, as NLS and the network of cooperating libraries look to improve access to information and accessible materials, expand library services, provide training on new systems, and discuss the future of library services to individuals who are blind or have a physical disability. Hands-on training sessions on various aspects of the NLS service will be provided on each day of the conference

MaryBeth Wise, network consultant, is managing the conference. Please e-mail suggestions for conference programs to MaryBeth at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> no later than June 30, 2015. The list of proposed topics will be shared with the conference chairs in July 2015.
