An announcement came out last week about registration being open for the International Conference on Digital Preservation, iPres2015, in Chapel Hill, NC on Nov. 1-6, 2015 from 9:00-12:00. PREMIS Implementation Fairs have been held since 2009 at each iPres conference. These events give implementers of the PREMIS Data Dictionary for Preservation Metadata an opportunity to find out about latest developments of PREMIS, discuss common interests, issues, and experiences, and recommend changes. This year's event will include the following (this is preliminary; there may be additional topics added): * An overview of the changes in PREMIS version 3.0, which gives implementers enhanced ability to describe their digital assets, including a new way of describing complex software and hardware environments that are so important to their preservation and future use. * A report on PREMIS implementations in open-source digital curation and preservation tools * Discussion of issues and proposed improvements The PREMIS Editorial Committee is seeking contributions to the workshop from PREMIS implementers. We are looking for speakers who would like to present on a topic or project. If you have implemented PREMIS recently, have changed the way you use PREMIS, or are doing something novel or innovative with it, we would like to hear from you. We are particularly interested in your experiences in implementing or your thoughts about implementing version 3 and how the changes might affect your ability to preserve your digital assets.
