Amy Zalman, CEO and President of World Future Society, will keynote the FEDLINK Fall Expo, “Forward @ Fifty: Blazing the Information Highway.”
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on November 9 in the Montpelier Room of the Madison Building of the Library of Congress, 101 Independence Ave. S.E., from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
As part of the Federal Library and Information Network (FEDLINK) 50th Anniversary, the Fall Expo will look forward for the federal information community. Zalman will address the central theme of the day: What is the future of libraries in general and the future for federal libraries and federal librarians as both society and technology continue to reshape both knowledge management and knowledge seeking? What competencies should information professionals developed to adapt to the swift pace of technological change? What will researchers and scholars need and expect in the next decade?
As part of the Fall Membership Meeting, the Expo will feature the new directions of both FEDLINK and its new service unit, National and International Outreach. Speakers from all levels of the Library of Congress will join the discussion and the anniversary celebration.
