The Commerce Research Library is seeking an outgoing, energetic, and experienced Business Librarian for its Downtown DC location. The Commerce Research Library offers a complete range of library services: legal and business research & reference; research database procurement & administration; training, events, & outreach; online services such as a website, eBooks, and digitized collections; and a specialized print collection of books, legal materials, and archival materials. The library serves patrons throughout the Department of Commerce’s Downtown DC headquarters, across the country, and overseas.
The Business Librarian will work primarily with the business and trade-focused organizations of the Department of Commerce. The librarian’s chief responsibilities will be to instruct DOC staff on the best sources and methods for conducting research through one-on-one and group trainings, to assess patrons’ business information needs, to procure print and digital content , and to promote the use of the library and its print and digital materials.
