By the way, semi-related. I now have a Benchmark DAC2 in the big system upstairs. Because this latest generation displays the sample and bitrate on the front panel, I can confirm that the Logitech Squeezebox Touch, driven by Logitech Media Server on my NAS box, with the Logitech firmware updated with the unofficial patch to unlock the built-in ability to handle 192kHz sample rates, always passes the correct data streams to the Benchmark via a coaxial SPDIF cable. I still can't believe Logitech stopped making those things. A great digital streamer with great functionality and rock-solid server software for under $300. Even the cheezy-seeming remote control holds up over time, and the whole thing can be driven remotely from a web browser addressing the Logitech server on the NAS or via iPhone app. -- Tom Fine ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard L.
