I have a Windows 8 box that I run Audacity on.  The only other application
on it is Star Office, and Cygwin to get files on and off it.  I use that machine
mostly for recording.  Everything else I do in Audacity is under Linux, and
except for being unable to *open* mp3 files due to licensing issues (it can
save in mp3 format) it works wonderfully.  If I need to "ingest" an mp3 file,
I use the Windows box.
